Blueberry Muesli

February 3rd—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Muesli dates back to sometime around 1900, when a Swiss doctor concocted it as a "health food" for his patients.  The name translates roughly to "mash-up", and refers to the varied assortment of ingredients used to create this crunchy, satisfying cereal.  Trader Joe's Blueberry Muesli has been available in our stores for decades, and while its been a stalwart cereal standby, we recently decided it was time for a bit of a facelift - this bit of reconstructive surgery improved not only its appearance, but its nutritional and flavor profiles, too!  To a healthful blend of whole grain flakes (from barley, rye, and organic corn) and crisp rice, we've added considerably more - and more flavorful - blueberries than before. And while the box says Blueberry Muesli, you'll also find a trio of raisins, currants, and dried apples that really bring the fruit flavors forward.

It's fat free, with five grams of dietary fiber and four grams of protein per serving.  It's delicious, whether served in a bowl with milk, atop a cup of smooth & creamy yogurt, or as a simple snack all on its own.  We're selling each 16 ounce box of Trader Joe's Fat Free Blueberry Muesli for $3.79.  You'll find it in our cereal section.
