Pumpkin Macarons

Pumpkin Macarons

October 7th—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read; price & availability may have changed.

Back in our freezers just in time for Pumpkin Season, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Macarons are traditional, French-style pastries with a very American twist.  Pumpkin, of course.

Like the other macarons you'll find in our freezers, Pumpkin Macarons are smallish, round, sandwich cookies.  A common -- if indulgent -- finding in French pâtisseries, macarons (mak-ah-ROHNS) have become common finds in American bake-shops, and staples of the freezer case here at Trader Joe's.  Each macaron features two pumpkin-flavored cookies that are simultaneously chewy (inside) and crispy (outside).  The cookies are sandwiched together with a pumpkin custard filling that's been impeccably seasoned with pumpkin pie spices.  They are, of course, made with natural flavors and get their pumpkin-y coloring from turmeric and beet juice. They're also really, really, really good.  Pumpkin promise.

Important to know about these Parisian-influenced, American-inspired cookies?  They're Trader Joe's-exclusive, so you won't find them anywhere else.  You'll find each 4.6 ounce box of 12 Pumpkin Macarons in our freezers for $4.99.
