Norwegian Wolffish

Norwegian Wolffish

June 10, 2013—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.

Here's a fish with which you may not be familiar, but whose flavor and texture will remind you of some favorites. Trader Joe's Norwegian Wolffish (Anarhichas minor) is a sharp-toothed, cold-water fish that's sustainably harvested for us in the Barents Sea, off the coast of Norway. It is considered a good substitute for Dover Sole, and shares the mild and slightly sweet flavor of lobster. We recommend poaching, pan-sauteeing, or steaming Wolffish – a little drawn butter couldn’t hurt.  We’re selling fillets of Trader Joe's Norwegian Wolffish for $12.79 a pound. You'll find them in our freezers.
