The mango is said to have originated in South Asia, and is significant in the cultures of a number of nations. How significant? It is the national fruit of at least three nations (India, Pakistan, and the Philippines), and the national tree of at least one other (Bangladesh). It could arguably be the national fruit of Trader Joe's — if we were a nation. Because we're a grocery store and not a country, we'll forego official proclamations in favor of simply telling you a bit about Trader Joe's Mango Smoothie.
This Mango Smoothie is an all juice smoothie — many smoothies have yogurt or milk or non-dairy "smoothie base" added to them. Its first ingredient is mango purée, so it's really mango-y. Each bottle also contains apple, orange, and lemon juices, as well as banana purée. It's not only tart-sweet delicious, it's also an excellent source of vitamin A and a good source of vitamin C. It's also a great value, at $2.99 for each 16 fluid ounce bottle.
