A large, golden-roasted turkey is the focal point of Freedom from Want, Rockwell’s iconic illustration of an idyllic Thanksgiving. Inspired by the portrait, we made it our mission to find birds that would offer just that – freedom from want.

So we went to established, esteemed U.S. farms in Minnesota, California and Pennsylvania, and selected only Grade A birds, which are of the highest quality available. We ensure that they are also "All Natural." At Trader Joe's, that means they are minimally processed with NO artificial ingredients, they never receive any antibiotics or growth hormones, and they are raised on a diet of 100% vegetarian feed. Then, to make sure that our turkeys will remain perfectly succulent and juicy as they cook, we brine our birds with a natural salt solution (Kosher salt is used for Kosher birds).

Since size and preparation preferences vary by family, but straightforward, reasonable pricing is a shared value, we carry All Natural, Brined, Fresh Young Turkeys (12-22 pound birds) for $1.99 per pound and Glatt Kosher, All Natural, Fresh Young Turkeys (12-16 pound birds) for $2.49 per pound. We don’t leave you wanting. With that said, there is just one catch (this is real life; not art, after all): there is a limited supply of these picture-perfect birds, so when we sell out, they won't be back until next year.
