Oranjeboom Premium Lager
Oranjeboom Premium Lager (that's or-AN-juh-BOOM) dates back to late 17th century Holland, where it was originally brewed at De Oranjeboom brewery in Rotterdam. The literal translation of the word is "orange tree", a symbol long associated with the Dutch royal family and Dutch culture. There are no orange trees (or oranges) in the beer, but Oranjeboom Lager, complete with orange tree on the can, is a beer long associated with Dutch culture.
Today, Oranjeboom is brewed in Germany, according to that original Dutch recipe from 1671 - water, barley malt, European hops, and yeast. It's a golden-blonde colored lager with a nose of light hops and bready malts, a full-bodied palate with an ideal pilsner balance of malt and hops, and a clean, crisp, refreshing finish. This is an excellent sipping beer, and delicious with mild cheeses - we'll recommend our Double Cream Gouda from Holland, for what we hope are obvious reasons.
We're selling Oranjeboom Premium Lager in 6-packs of 16.9 ounce cans - that's a big can! - for the everyday price of $5.99*, a great value on a great beer with a great history to go along with it.
