Crumbled Blue Cheese
April 29, 2013—Fearlessly Archived—Still a fun read, price & availability may have changed.
Trader Joe's Crumbled Blue Cheese has won awards at cheese shows around the country and around the world. That's terrific, and we're proud of the awards, to be sure. When it comes right down to it, though, we're far more concerned with how you, our customers, like the cheese than we are about the opinion of a panel of judges at a cheese show (no offense intended, panels of judges). Given the success and longevity of our Crumbled Blue Cheese, we're sure you'd give it awards, too. If you were inclined to give awards to cheese, that is.
Our Crumbled Blue Cheese is a Danish-style blue made for us in the dairy lands of Wisconsin. Milk from a local dairy cooperative provides the starting point for what, over more than 60 days of aging, becomes a rich, buttery, piquant blue-veined cheese. We've had it crumbled because so many recipes call for Crumbled Blue Cheese. You could buy a wedge and crumble it yourself — we have other blue cheese options — this just saves you a step. And since the cheese itself is a high quality blue, you're not sacrificing quality for convenience.
You're also not sacrificing value. We're selling an eight ounce tub for $3.29. Use it on salads, pita sandwiches, pizzas, on steaks & burgers, or stuffed in a fresh fig and drizzled with honey. You'll find Crumbled Blue Cheese in our cheese case.
